The Government of the Republic of Molossia is pleased to announce the recent release of three movies featuring our great nation over the past two months. How To Start Your Own Country was filmed in Molossia on 23 - 24 May 2009 XXXII by Jody Shapiro, Denis Seguin, Lindsay Hamel and John Gurdebeke. The film was sponsored by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a lengthy study of micronations, with an eye toward answering the question "what constitutes a nation". After 16 months of production, How To Start Your Own Country premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in mid-September 2010 XXXIII. Reports indicate that the film was very popular at the Festival. Also in September, the DVD was released for the Kickassia movie that was filmed here in Molossia, in April 2010 XXXIII. Involving a mock invasion and takeover of Molossia, the movie was very popular when released online in May 2010 XXXIII and we are pleased to see it released now on DVD. A Tiny Spark was filmed in Molossia on 25 - 26 May 2009 XXXII. This project was independently funded and focused on the question "what is a nation". The film crew consisted of Franco Sacchi and Meredith Blodget, both of Boston. A Tiny Spark premiered at the Hot Springs Arkansas Film Festival in mid-October 2010 XXXIII, and is very popular viewing in Molossia. We are quite proud of these three features and that they focus the world's attention to Molossia, bringing great credit upon our nation. |
