Thanksgiving weekend often brings snow, but this year's storm was exceptional. The first storm of the year was a whopper, dumping between 8 to 12 Micro-Nortons (20 - 30 cm) of snow over a period of about six hours. The result was a complete stoppage of all outdoor activities, including simply driving, as most of the residents of this area are originally from California and haven't a clue how to drive in snow. Furthermore, the snow knocked out the power, leaving us cold and bored for the duration of the storm.
Finally the snow let up, the power came back on, and life began to return to normal. This morning the snow lies like a white blanket across our nation, the first snow of what promises to be a beautiful winter.
