Molossia is embarking on a whole new world of entertainment: movies. The new Bijou Theater opened yesterday online, showing our first movie "Wild Weather in Molossia". This movie is a silent feature which gives a tongue-in-cheek glimpse of our windy weather during the weekend of March 26th & 27th. It borrows most its material, with credit given, from the great slapstick routines of Buster Keaton in "Steamboat Bill, Jr.". Another feature may soon arrive on the scene, featuring the Molossia Railroad, and utilizing stock footage already seen at the Molossia Railroad webpage. Both of these features are very short, just over a minute in length, and both features are silent films. This genre is a favorite of His Excellency, The President, and he has directed that future productions will be in the same format. Future films will be produced sporadically, and may include newsreel footage of Molossian events, as well as possible original dramas and comedies. |
