Saturday, 14 September 2024 XLVII, was quite the amazing day in Molossia! To start with, President Lehfeldt of the United Republic of Khalata visited Molossia for the first State Visit between our two nations. Khalata's home is in the Bay area, about five hours drive west of Molossia. President Lehfeldt arrived with his First Lady, Jessica, at 9:39 AM MST and was immediately escorted to Republic Square, where the Khalatan flag was raised alongside that of Molossia. Subsequent to the playing of both nations' national anthems, His Excellency awarded Molossia's Friendship Medal to President Lehfeldt, customary for visiting Heads of State. In turn, President Lehfeldt awarded the Khalata Medal of Unity to The President. As well, we were honored to welcome Princess Larissa of the Queendom of Hotdamastan, a prominent state in the great nation of Slowjamastan. The Princess was welcomed with honors to our nation in a ceremony in Republic Square; the President was proud award her the Molossian Friendship Medal, as well. Following the ceremony, The President and First Lady took President Lehfeldt and Princess Larissa on a tour of Molossia, accompanied by a large group of tourists, as this day was also the September tour of Molossia. At the beginning of the tour a bounty of MoonPies were shared to all our visitors, celebrating the MoonPie Festival, one of Molossia's tastier holidays. It was very special to share this holiday with our visitors. During the subsequent tour the group saw all the sights of our nation. Following the tour all our guests bid farewell to Molossia as they returned to their homes. His Excellency then sat in the shade next to Government House to participate in an interview with a media team visiting from Southern California. It was a busy, wonderful day in Molossia, and we wish all the best to our visitors - dignitaries, royalty, media and everyone!
