2015 New Year's Speech

New Year's Speech

Given by His Excellency, President Kevin Baugh
19 February 2015 XXXVIII

My Fellow Molossians, Greetings.

Today marks the beginning of a new year, a chance to look at the world afresh and to step into that new day and new world boldly. The New Year is a symbol of renewal and on this occasion we should all clear our thoughts and refocus our energies. On this day, let us all take a moment and just breathe. Pause in what we’re doing and set aside where we’ve been and where we’re going. In this moment reflect on the here and now. We all work together to make Molossia the greatest nation on earth, stop and enjoy that nation that we have created. Revel in the clear blue sky above us, the gentle breezes that wave our flag, the country that we have built and the family that we are. These are the important things, the things that set us apart and make Molossia special.

To be sure, we must look ahead to our challenges and of course we must look back on our accomplishments. Just two weeks ago a powerful storm blew through Molossia, wreaking havoc and causing destruction. Having been dealt this blow we immediately set about rebuilding and to date repairs are complete. This event is symbolic in itself, a moment of crisis, a chance to rise again, to meet our challenges and renew our nation. This we have done and this we will always do, for that is the Molossian spirit.

The past is behind us now and yesterday is but a memory. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, with the new day comes new strength and new thoughts, and this is that new day. Our nation is ever-changing and evolving and new things are happening all the time. We will meet each challenge with resolve and positivity and shape our own future. We will do this together as a nation and a family, because together we can do anything. We are Molossians.

God Bless You,
Long Live Molossia!
